As a children’s author, when I am doing school visits I always ask kids if they like reading and fewer and fewer hands are going up. When I then ask if they like writing even fewer hands are in the air. We talk about reading for pleasure but I have never heard the term writing for pleasure. I NEVER thought that I would become an author. My hand would also not have been raised if asked that question! But writing has brought so much joy to my life. When characters surprise me and my own stories make me gasp, cry or laugh out loud it feels like something beyond my control. It feels like magic.
I wanted to make something that would bring some joy to writing. Something beyond fronted adverbials and SATs tests. Something that would spark imaginations and allow kids the space to make stuff up for no reason other than to feel that magic. After spending a few weeks in my shed working on different designs I am ready to release my new idea into the world.

This purchase arrive in what felt like just moments after ordering. We left it out for our daughter to find and she was fascinated from the outset. She loved wearing the disguise and creeping round the house. It look a little while for us to get to grips with the fact that there was no "real answer" and it goes wherever the imagination take us. - I know it sounds daft but this is so different to prescribed activities we're used to and we have a wonderful time.
I bought this for my friend’s son for his 8th birthday and he absolutely loves it! The whole family got involved with the tasks and it inspired him to get writing. Such an original gift that will get you brownie points with the parents.
